Tierra Madre

With a camera, some sound gear, lights, and a lot of know how, Dylan Verrechia travelled by himself for ten days to direct this narrative feature based on the true story of an independent woman raising her children with her female partner on the Mexican border.

Tierra Madre won the Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Reeling Chicago Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, the Jury’s Honorable Mention at the Morelia International Film Festival, the Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the Barcelona International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, the Outstanding Achievement in Foreign Feature at the Williamsburg International Film Festival, the Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the Cinesul Film Festival,the Golden Palm at the Mexico International Film Festival, the Honorable Mention at the New Jersey International Film Festival, and the Silver Lei Award for Excellence in Filmmaking at the Honolulu International Film Festival.
