This is a pretty cool website we’ve stumbled upon that focuses on design, art, and music. They devote a great portion of the blog on one of the biggest debates around here — what are the best movie posters?

Take a peek at this Barry Lyndon poster and explore!

I’ve always been aware of the Barry Lyndon poster by the french poster designer Jouineau Bourduge with its Saul Bass inspired illustration. It almost seems ubiquitous—up there with Pacino’s Scarface poster so beloved of students—yet I think it has a timeless and mythical quality, very much like the best of Kubrick’s creations. The blackness of the figure and lettering is so striking. The red of the rose, a wonderful and lucky bit of symbolism that relates to many themes that run through the movie.
